Frequently Asked Questions

How much will therapy cost?

The cost of therapy is dependent on whether you plan to use insurance benefits. If you are using an insurance we are in-network with, we will call your insurance company to verify your benefits and let you know how much you are responsible for (copay, coinsurance, deductible).

* If we are not in-network with your insurance provider, we can provide you with a “Superbill” to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement (you are responsible for paying the full free upfront and may be reimbursement by the insurance company)*

*Verification of benefits does not guarantee claim payment. You assume financial responsibility for any unpaid portions of sessions.

Self-pay Rates:

Intake Assessment Fee: $160

53-minute session fee: $140

Sliding scale slots are offered to those experiencing financial hardship, but are limited. Please contact us to discuss your financial needs.

What if I do not connect with my therapist?

Establishing a strong therapeutic relationship is crucial for a positive therapy experience. We prioritize building rapport and trust with your therapist to guide your journey effectively. If you feel your therapist is not the right fit at any point, it's okay to end therapy. We're always ready to offer referrals and resources to help you find the support that suits you best. Do not hesitate to discuss your concerns with your therapist or seek a referral to another provider if needed.

What is your cancelation policy?

Please remember to cancel or reschedule 24 hours in advance. Cancellations or missed appointments without 24 hour’s notice will be subject to a $75 fee charge, or full session fee if under $75. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time.

What Therapy Style do you use?

Our style is "free-flowing" and non-structured, allowing you to talk about what you want without inhibiting your thoughts. Life is unpredictable, and our goal is to help you navigate your current struggles, recognizing they may change from session to session. We encourage you to focus on what is most beneficial for you in each session, fostering a conversational atmosphere. While we're flexible, we'll also guide you towards therapeutic goals we agree upon. We're eclectic in our approach, using various skills and strategies to help you achieve your goals. If you prefer a more structured approach, we're happy to accommodate that when needed.

What should I expect if I reach out?

Contact us: if you are interested in our services, you can reach out via email or phone call. Please provide your name, contact information, and reason for seeking services.

15-minute consultation call: after we receive your contact information and reason for seeking services, we will schedule a 15 minute free consultation phone call to learn more about your needs.

Verification of benefits: if you are interested in using in-network benefits, we will call your insurance company to verify your benefits.

Complete paperwork: after verifying your benefits, we'll send you multiple documents via our secure online portal for your intake assessment. These include consent forms and an intake questionnaire with detailed questions about your background and reasons for seeking services. Once you have completed all paperwork, we'll schedule your first appointment.

Intake assessment: the intake session allows your therapist to understand your needs and design a treatment plan. It's also an opportunity for you to assess if the therapist is a good fit. The therapist uses the intake questionnaire to delve into your struggles and concerns. At the session's end, they offer feedback on a potential treatment plan, and you decide whether to schedule further sessions.

How long and how frequent are therapy sessions?

The initial intake assessment session is 60 minutes. All sessions thereafter are about 53 minutes long. After your intake assessment, your therapist will discuss their recommendations for frequency of sessions depending on your therapeutic needs. Typically, we require weekly sessions in the beginning to help build rapport and achieve your goals as quickly as possible. Once we see you are starting to accomplish your therapeutic goals, we would discuss decreasing the frequency of sessions. We view therapy as a collaborative journey and will work with you to balance our professional feedback with your personal preferences.
